We got each players position, height, weight, skin color and hair correct. In addition to each players overall rating we tried to get there playing style as well. This year’s roster file includes no broken names or spelling errors (which haunted us in the past). We used the original base roster which Phil had edited coaches up to the start of last year, I edited the coaching changes up to the start of this season and some courts have been updated as well. I paid close attention to every players 3 point % and so that is especially accurate for every player, hard to gauge freshman sometimes.

The College Hoops series was put on hiatus in 2008 as 2K Sports declined to seek the college license for a 2K9 release. The announcers/commentators featured in the game were Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery. The real coaches feature was dropped from this game, possibly because the coaches chose not to renew their contracts and all of the coaches are unnamed. The game also featured the ability to change and modify rosters and share them online via the newly introduced 2K Share feature. Also, Centenary College of the Summit League was unlicensed and instead named UL-Calcutta.
